Prophecy

So, with Prophecy only 23 days away (Squee, btw.) I am really starting to wonder about how many people we're going to be able to get to go see OotP on August 1st. So, if people can comment on what time their flight gets in on that day, or if you get in on that day, that would be great. I'll start off by saying that I, along with many other people, get in around 2:30 pm. So, I hope to read what time people will be arriving becuase I'm uber excited! SQUEE again!

Where did I go?

So, you may have wondered why I haven't been online since Monday morning. If you haven't, shame on you! Well, the internet at residence has been down since Monday at 11:30 am and they didn't know what the problem was until yesterday. They found out that a fibre broke and they now have to locate it and fix it. So, I probably won't have internet again until Thursday at noon. I am completely going crazy. Why oh why do I lose internet so often. I can't survive without it. I miss everyone!

Okay, enough out of me.

It's so super exciting. What a great xmas present Jo has given us. Anyways, I'm at work and shouldn't be typing this. Okay, now I have to open up some tills. Bye!

Windstorm

So, there was a big windstorm here last night. Why is this something to write about? Well, due to fallen branches, power lines, etc Stanley Park (where the Aquarium, my work, is located) was officially closed. Normally, you would think that this means that I got the day off as no one could get into the park. However, they decided that we needed to open it anyways. So, it took me 2.5 hours to get to work when it normally takes me 30-45 minutes because a lot of lights were not working and people don't understand how to treat them as four way stops and junk. Then, on route, I found out that we were waiting word if we were going to open. Then, heard again that we were opening for 11 am. So, because the park was closed, I had to park outside of the park and walk in. This took 10-15 minutes and I had to avoid the fallen branches and look out for any that may fall on me. So, all in all...crappy! Plus, they're planning on opening tomorrow even though the park will be officially closed again. Talk about a way to lose money. There were maybe 50 guests today and there were definately more staff than visitors.

You Belong in Barcelona

When it comes to Europe, you don't want to decide between culture and fun. You want art by day and a big party by night.
Barcelona is ideal for you. You can check out some Picasso, eat some tapas, take a siesta, and then dance all night!

P.S-Notice how school is less busy and I post more. This is what happens.

I passed! I got a C+! I'm so excited. I thought I had no chance of getting better than a C, but I prevailed. Although, that's probably due to my prof changing how he was distributing the marks! Yay! Anyways, enough excitement, I'm going to call my mommy.

Update, Update, Update!

Okay, so I decided I haven't updated in a while, plus I'm procrastinating doing more studying for my test tomorrow. So, let me run through my past week for you.

Monday: Snow day! Yes, that's right, I have no school which was awesome. But, I didn't do as much work as I could have. Also, I had no internet from Sunday morning until Monday at 4 pm so I had to call my boyfriend and get him to check my e-mail because I was supposed to have an assignment due in class today. So, I had to e-mail my assignment by 10:30 am (time class would have ended) that morning. Yuck! I went down to Starbucks and paid $7.50 to get an hour worth of internet. Then, I went grocery shopping.

Tuesday: School was back on. Sucky 'cause I had Statistics, which is incredibly boring. But, it was my last class EVER with one of my friends (Laura) because she's a Kinesiology major, while I'm a Biology major. We had taken all our prerequisites together, but now we're done them, so no more. Awww. I also watched Veronica Mars.

Wednesday: School and junk. Watched America's Next Top Model and One Tree Hill, both excellent shows. I sure do like Wednesday nights! Oh, and I went to the doctor today and found out that I didn't have high iron in my blood (hemacromatosis), which my dad has and that's why I had to be tested. But, yay!

Thursday: 1 hour of statistics, some studying and pretty much that's my day. Except that I watched The Office and Scrubs (which was the first episode of the new season, yay!) Although, the commercial for Scrubs said something about a musical, but it didn't happen. So, maybe one of the future ones. *Crosses fingers*

Friday: School and studying. Although I got my mark for my tutorial for Animal Ecology - 85% Go me! That's an A incase you didn't know. I'm hoping to get an A/A- in both Ecology and Stats. Animal Physiology will be like a C, but I'll deal.

Saturday: Worked all day and then came home and studied. Not very exciting day overall.

Sunday (Today): So far I have only really studied and watched the Simpsons, which is not much fun at all. Oh, well. I'm almost done studying. I'm so sick of it! At least I have my hardest exam tomorrow and then I'm done school in 8 days for 27 days! Yay! Then, another 4 months of school until I'm done for 4 months. So, exciting!

Hope everyone feels updated. Oh, and 13 days until my birthday, just so everyone knows!

Stolen from SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many people.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: North Central

"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.

The Inland North

I would just like to state the reason people probably mistake me for a Canadian a lot is because I am one, kthx.

Boring Break

So, I'm at work on my 2nd half an hour break and it's so boring.  Therefore, I'm writing my LJ.  Let's start with why it is so boring.  Because usually I have lunch with Ian, but he has stupid performance review things to do all day.  No fun!  I have mine in like 20 min.  But, I'm off break in 10 min.  So, on my first break I spent it with Jenine, who is in the membership office.  Then, on this break, I decided to catch up on random websites.  Aka e-mail, LJ and Leaky.  But, this only occupied me for 10 min.  It's really hard to actually find stuff to occupy your time.

In other news, I went to Sandra's yesterday.  I really enjoyed seeing her cause I haven't hung out with her, or seen her, since Aug. sometime.  Which sucks majorly!  I used to see her like every weekend.  Stupid work and school and life.  But, we had fun.  We went to Tim Hortons for dinner and I got to have a donut.  Mmm, haven't had one of those for a while.  And then we went to get some snacks and a movie.  But, couldn't find a movie.  So, we watched Click, which Sandra had on her computer.  (Banana pretend you didn't read that!)  It was pretty good.  I never thought an Adam Sandler movie would make me cry.  So strange.  Oh, well.  We had fun.  Then we watched some tv and then finally I told her that You Tube has "Who's Line is it Anyway" on it.  Which caused us to laugh for a long time.  I love that show and greatly miss it.  They should totally bring it back on the air.  With new episodes.  Well, I've wasted 5 min and I could go up to work now and just be like, "Yeah, I was bored and came back early."  But, if it's crazy up there then I don't wanna go.  Maybe I'll write for a little bit longer and then I will go to my locker and put away my money from lunch on my first break and grab some other stuff.  Maybe fill up my water bottle.  We'll see what ends up happening.

I'm out.

Productivity

So, today was a pretty productive day.  Actually writing in this thing is an indication of that.  Over the past few weeks, I have felt really tired and I didn't really think too much of it.  Then on Friday night, I went to bed at 11:30/12:00, knowing that I had to get up at 6:45 am, and knew I would be tired.  But all day on Saturday, it wasn't that bad.  So, I started an experiment with myself to determine how much sleep my body actually wants.  I started with 9 hours today, because I had been getting 10+ hours each night, and I feel better, but I know I could be better.  So, tomorrow I will go down to 8.5 and then so on.  Okay, so what does this mean?  Pretty much, when I find my optimum amount of sleep I need, I will go to bed later depending on the time I need to get up.  I feel like this way I may actually be able to motivate myself to get some work done, which I've been avoiding a lot lately.

Anyways, what I'm getting at is if I was this productive every Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday, there should be no reason that I can't have more time for fun on Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday.  I think I may have to do more work more often.

Edit: (Because I'm a loser) Not including this edit, there are 651 words in this post.  Wowee!

Weekend in Seattle

Before I forget what I did, and so I don't have to tell the story multiple times, here is a play by play of my trip to Seattle.

Friday: Left home at around 4 pm, was across the border by about 5:30 and then it took about 3 hours in total to get to Seattle. So, we got there around 7. Checked in at the hostel and then we decided to walk around a bit. We went to Red Robin for dinner down at the pier and then walked around Pike's Place Market, which is boring when nothing is open. Then we saw a chocolate factory and went to get dessert. Went back and were asleep by 10:30.

Saturday: Woke up kind of early because I was uber excited that it was the day that I got to meet Kelli. We left the hostel at 9 and then we hung around at Pike's Place Market until 9:30. We then went to get some coffee, or in my case a double chocolate chip frappachino(that doesn't taste like coffee), at Starbucks where we were meeting Kelli. She showed up around 9:45 and Katie n' Kelli's Adventure in Seattle began. We had to wait outside the First Starbucks a bit because her dad was parking the car and we had to wait for him to plan a time to go to Chipotle. When he showed up, Kelli and I took a photo as our Melissa part of the day. Then we decided to walk around Pike's Place Market for about an hour before going to Chipotle. We found the coolest store ever, which we have dubbed the geek store. It had so many amazing things. They had a wizard's license but it had a typo on it. It said that 4 Privet Drive was in London, England. It's in Surrey! Idiots! Then we went to Chipotle and on the way Kelli ate some of my "Katie Cox From Canada Cookies." At Chipotle, we got a chicken burrito and wrote a postcard for Lily of utter randomness. Kelli actually finished her burrito, where I just didn't. Then we went to 5th avenue to do some shopping, which turned out to not be as fun because there were mainly expensive stores. Although, I did get a couple of shirts at Old Navy. We went to Barnes and Nobles and we found a Harry Potter wall and it was so cool. Then, I was buying something and the clerk was asking if I wanted to become a member and I said no cause I live in Canada where there are no B&N. She was convinced that there was until her co-worker told her I was right. Then we went to a couple other stores until we had to walk to the 5th ave theatre where her parents were picking her up. (Side Note: Kelli sent me a text the morning of saying that her father was convinced that I was a shadowspaun and could be using a voice synthesizer. But, I proved him wrong.)

After Kelli and I parted, we walked back to hostel and hung around for a bit until I had to move my car because there was free parking from Sat. 6pm and all day Sunday. Then, we had dinner and bought some fudge(mmm) Then, we went back to the hostel and played pool, foosball and Scrabble. Then, sleep.

Sunday: Went to Experience Music Project and the best part was the sound labs and the fact that we got to pretend to be a band preforming on stage...so much fun! Then, we went to the Science Fiction Museum, which wasn't as fun as we thought it would be. After that, we bummed around on the grass for a bit. Then, we walked to the hostel to pick up our bags and change. We then walked towards the theatre, hung out in Starbucks a bit beforehand. And, then Wicked! It was so good. Although, I have differing views from my friends who can accept change. I'm very attached to the original broadway recording and am convinced some words and stuff were different and they think I'm crazy. We left Seattle around 10 pm and got to the border at 11:30. However, there was an hour long wait to cross it. Who knew at 11:30 at night there would be so many ppl going home. When we got across, I wanted to take the first exit off of the 99, but my friends said no, keep going. I then got lost in Surrey for a good 20-30 minutes until I decided to get to 176 via Fraser Hwy. Got home around 1:45 and crashed.
